ScreenSafe is currently creating a new set of NZ Screen Sector Health & Safety Guidelines by rewriting and replacing the existing Code of Practice available from The Techos' Guild. The Guidelines will contain useful information about the new legislation and updated recommendations for best practice Screen Sector Health & Safety.
The Guidelines will outline legal and moral responsibilities, and provide procedures for identifying potential health and safety hazards and risks. Once complete, the Guidelines will be available free on this website. To allow easy access to this information, the Guidelines are divided into five sections:
Section 1: An introduction to the Guidelines and why they exist.
Section 2: Intended outcomes and why everyone should take note of these guidelines.
Section 3: Key information on what everyone must know about the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015.
Section 4: Detailed information about the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, responsibilities and how it applies to each role in the screen sector.
Section 5: Specific technical areas with Health & Safety guidance for each one.
Each section has been developed following the relevant principles stipulated in the following legislation and regulations:
